Rough Week

Well unfortunately Natalie has had a bit of a rough week.  She had chemo on Monday and wore her fanny pack with chemo until yesterday.  She did not receive the 3rd chemo drug yesterday that she had last time.  Dr. Khurshid discontinued that to see if it was the cause for her elevated liver numbers.  Also, instead of receiving one shot today to help boost her white blood count, she will be receiving one shot each day for the next 5 days.  This is another step they are taking to prevent more issues with her liver.  She is going to see if her insurance will allow her to administer the shot at home or somewhere in Corsicana.  If not she has to drive to Arlington every day for the next 5 days and the shot has to be given before 11am in the morning.   Hopefully they are able to come up with a good alternative for this.

This go around she has been really nauseous and, on top of that, she has bronchitis!  The only thing she is allowed to take for that is Mucinex which has finally started to help.  She feels a little better this morning then she did yesterday which is definitely a step in the right direction.  She could certainly use our prayers right now!  The last thing she needs is to be battling another illness when her body is busy fighting all of the side effects of chemo.  Please pray that she starts feeling better soon and that her spirits remain high.

During the times when we don't have too many blog updates we thought it might be fun for friends and family to guest post.  We can all share our favorite funny stories, sweet times we have had with Natalie or just some words of encouragement for her.  Not only will it be a lot of fun for all of us to read along, it will be very encouraging for Natalie.  On days when she isn't feeling well it would be nice if those of us supporting her in this journey could make her feel a little better and bring a smile to her face.

If you would like to share something on the blog, you can email natalieandstephenjones@gmail.com with your story.  Please include your name, how you know Natalie and Stephen and, if you are feeling inspired, a clever title for your post.  Also feel free to include pictures!!  But be warned, Natalie has veto power on any and all pictures that are shared on the blog!
