Husband: Blogger in training...
Let me just start by saying that this is my very first blog post...ever. So, forgive me for any grammatical errors that may occur during your read. ;)
Here is the latest scoop on my beautiful bride: Round #4 of chemotherapy went smoothly as far as the medical treatment is concerned. However, it has been one of(if not the)toughest rounds yet. During the week of her chemo, the feeling of nausea was more overbearing than normal causing her to feel constant sickness throughout the week. At the end of that week, she was administered a shot of nulasta to help with her blood counts. The major side effect of this is severe joint pain combined with anxiousness. So, you want to move around and be active..but it hurts to move. Normally she bounces back very quickly from the effects of chemo and the nulasta, but this round was different. She had joint pain and internal uneasiness for the following week as well. Being the strong, beautiful warrior that she is combined with her unwavering faith, she did not let that stop her from showing love and serving others. She participated in a minithon to help raise money to buy glasses for kids who cannot afford them here in Corsicana on Saturday of last week. Words really cannot express the kind of servant heart my wife has. She is honestly incredible. As her husband, hearing her say how she feels "different" in terms of the pain level this round is troubling for me. So during today's routine bloodwork at the cancer center, we sat and talked with her doctor and nurse. They informed us that her blood and liver count were "perfectly normal" and that "she may just be feeling some accumulated effects of the chemo being that it is the fourth round". That was very good news for us to hear today. Tonight, she is feeling pretty good. Not 100%, but pretty good. We even enjoyed an evening bike ride together in this beautiful weather. She is never wanting to take these days for granted when she feels well. So, any time she is feeling good we jump on the opportunity to go out and enjoy life together! Natalie makes this whole journey easy to love her. I am blessed by her.
To close, I just want to simply say...thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Your continued support verbally, emotionally, virtually, financially and prayerfully has helped us get through some very hard moments and is continuing to help us every single day more than you could ever know. I could not imagine someone going through this journey without a strong faith and a strong community of people who are supporting my wife and I like you all have done and are continuing to do. So again, thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Stephen
